Content Marketing Success Requires Focused Hard Work

Ingredient #2 for Content Marketing Success = Hard Work, Commitment & Focus

If you’ve been searching the Internet for information on building a successful business, chances are you’ve run across many sites promising quick results, or sites that have the secret formula for success. However, the hardcore fact is, if you want a successful business, you are going to need to work hard.

Does this mean you need to overwork yourself? Will you need to stay up all hours of the night working endlessly? Absolutely not.

What you do need; however, is a commitment to focus and work hard.

What does that mean exactly?

You may be saying to yourself right now, “But I do work hard.” And the truth is, you may be. However, I encourage you to take a look at exactly what you are doing on any given day. If you are spending hours on social media, trying to find the next client or make a connection, it may feel like hard work, but is it producing results? And what exactly dose finding the next client look like?

If you are like many businesses owners, you can become lost in the Internet. Whether it is spending time on social media, looking for the next shiny object, or staring at your screen deciding what to do next, time can pass by without you even noticing.

You can’t get to where you want to go without focus for your hard work. Have a plan in place that will keep you on track and moving in the right direction.

Here’s a little tip: Break your day down in chunks.

Set a timer for 60 minutes for each activity you have planned. When the timer goes off, do a check in. Become aware of what you are really doing. Do inventory on the activity by determining if it is really focused hard work or is it just busy work. Make adjustments if needed, get up and stretch and regroup.
