1. What results do you want to experience with having your business online? Before you can make a plan for your content marketing, you need to determine what results you want to experience. Are you interested in finding new clients, selling more products, or enhancing your business appearance? Get very clear on want you want–the clearer you are, the better equipped you will be in developing your plan of action. Where do you want your business to be in 6 months, 1 year, and 5 years as a result of your online presence.

2. How much time do you have to spend with your online efforts? Having an understanding of the time you can invest into your online marketing is essential. Whether you are just beginning or you've been online for awhile, it can be a big time waster. By determining the amount of time you can spend, you will be able to streamline your efforts and have more success.

3. What support do you need in place to be successful? Support is key to success! Whether you need to take a class to learn how to use social media for your business, or you need to outsource your online marketing, finding the right support system can mean the difference between increased results or a failed attempt. Take a moment to decide what type of supports will help you most.

Internet marketing is fun and exciting, but can also feel intimidating and overwhelming. The more clarity you have surrounding your goals, the more focused your are able to be when developing your strategy. Take the time to write down your goals. Keep in mind the clearer and more specific they are the better.
